Common Google Calendar Sync Issues in Cowlendar and How to Fix Them
Troubleshooting Common Google Calendar Integration Issues in Cowlendar
What happens to team members when the admin's Google Calendar gets disconnected?
If the admin’s Google account becomes disconnected, it disrupts the entire Google Calendar sync process. This means:
Existing synced events can no longer be edited.
New events will fail to sync across all team membersm
The admin's Google account must remain connected at all times.
Why do I see the banner "X reservations found, do you want to import them?" but the import button doesn't work?
This happens when the Google Workspace admin has changed. Since events are linked to the original admin, the only way to recover past events is to transfer super admin rights to someone within the same domain (e.g., @cowlendar.com). This only works with Google Workspace accounts, not regular Gmail addresses.
The booking they received does not have an associated email. It is important that every booking has an associated email for an event to be created in Google Calendar
Make sure that in the "Advanced" section, the option "What contact information to ask?" is set to Email or Email & Phone.
Can a reservation appear for a specific team member without showing for the administrator? No, that's not possible. All events are initially created by the administrator and then synced to the linked team members. If it’s not on the admin’s calendar, it won’t appear for anyone else
Other Common Google Calendar Sync Issues
Creating too many events: Users who create over 10,000 events in a short period may lose editing access to their calendar.
Creating too many calendars: Creating more than 25 calendars in a short time can cause the user's calendar to become read-only.
Sending too many invitations or emails to external guests: To prevent spam, Google Calendar limits the number of invitations sent to external guests, usually between 100 and 300. G Suite users can invite unlimited guests within their primary or associated domains.
Sharing calendars with too many users: Sharing calendars with a large number of users in a short time can trigger a read-only status. While this is rare through manual actions, it can occur when using third-party tools or API-based applications.
