Yes. You're only subscribed on a monthly basis. You can downgrade anytime and you will only be billed for the number of months you've been subscribed and not for a whole year.
Please be aware that all billing is handled by Shopify themselves and they will be you on there own billing cycle. This means the charge may come in a bit later then what you actually subscribe
