# How to Set Up Sports Fields as Equipment in Cowlendar

Whether you’re renting **tennis courts, squash rooms, padel fields, or golf driving ranges**, Cowlendar’s **Sports Field Rental** equipment type is designed to help you manage bookings **per field** with complete flexibility.

This feature is perfect for businesses that rent **physical spaces** for individual or group sessions and need to manage **availability per court or field**.

### 🎯 Why Use Sports Field Rental as Equipment?

This type of configuration is ideal when you want:

* **Each sports field** to have its own independent booking schedule.
* Control and visibility over **who’s using what field and when**.
* A simple, client-friendly booking experience where customers can choose a specific court or field.

Great for:

* 🏸 Tennis and padel courts
* ⛳ Golf practice ranges
* 🏓 Squash rooms
* 🏐 Indoor volleyball fields
* 🥅 Small-sided football turf spaces

### 🛠️ How to Add a Sports Field as Equipment

You can add Sports Field equipment from:

#### ✅ Option A – From Inside the Service

1. Go to **Shopify > Apps > Cowlendar**.
2. Click on **My Services**.
3. Create a new service or edit an existing one.
4. Under the **Availability** tab, select **Availability per Equipment**.
5. A new section will appear to **create equipment directly from the service**.
6. Select **Restaurant Reservation** as the equipment type and proceed with the configuration (see next section).

#### ✅ Option B – From the Equipment Section

1. Go to **Shopify > Apps > Cowlendar**.
2. Click on **Equipment** in the left-hand menu.
3. Click **+ Add Equipment**.
4. Choose the type: **Restaurant Reservation**.

Both methods lead to the same result. Choose the one that fits your workflow best.

### 🧾 Equipment Configuration Options

When creating a **Sports Field Rental**, you’ll only need to complete the **General Info section**:

#### General Information

* **Internal Name**: Used for internal tracking. E.g., “Tennis Court 1”.
* **Customer Label**: Displayed to the customer when selecting a court. E.g., “Clay Court A” or “Golf Range #2”.
* **Description** *(optional)*: Add additional information like surface type, location (indoor/outdoor), or amenities.

> 🎾 Example: “Padel Court B – Covered | Synthetic Turf | Includes lighting until 9 PM”

### ⚠️ Important: One Equipment per Field

If you manage **multiple fields**, **do not** try to use a single equipment entry with multiple units. This equipment type **does not include quantity and capacity** settings.

**Instead:**

* Create **a separate entry** for **each sports field**.
* Each field will then have its **own availability and booking calendar**.
* Example: For 4 tennis courts, create:
  * “Tennis Court 1”
  * “Tennis Court 2”
  * “Tennis Court 3”
  * “Tennis Court 4”

This method guarantees full control and avoids overlapping reservations.

### 🔗 Link the Equipment to a Service

Once you’ve created all your sports fields:

1. Go to **My Services**.
2. Edit or create your sports rental service (e.g., “Book a Tennis Court”).
3. In the **Availability** tab, select **Availability per Equipment**.
4. Choose which fields should be linked to this service.
5. Save your changes.

> ✅ Each field will be bookable based on its own real-time availability.
